Zack Follet, a former outside linebacker and Cal Great, has decided to end his NFL career due to continued neck pains. His forced retirement is a sad story for all Detroit Lion and Cal fans. He was an amazing player on and off the field – a beast on the field but a kind and loving person off the field. He will be dearly missed.
Follett ranks 10th on California’s all-time tackle list with 245. He set a school record and tied the Pac-10 record for forced fumbles with 13. He finished fifth at California in stops behind the line of scrimmage with 51.0. Included in that total were 23.5 sacks which put him in sixth place on the school’s career sacks list. In his last season at Cal he had a total of 87 tackles (58 solo, 29 assisted) and 10 sacks. [Source]
