Jason A.W.’s Pac-12 Predictions: Week 3

[Overall predictions]: 21-1 [Last Week]: 10-0

Biggest week for the Pac-12 to score some national recognition. Four games against other BCS conference foes, plus one against an independent and two against formidable Mountain West opponents.

Colorado State(Mountain West) 20 – Colorado 26: Colorado has won 4 out of the last 6 meetings and finally gets in the win column after two initial heartbreaking losses.

Texas 21(Big-12)- UCLA 27 : Upset special of the week. I predict UCLA beats Texas for the 4th time in 14 years (how’s that USC?) as its QB duo (Prince, Brehaut) outruns the QB trio (Gilbert, McCoy, Ash) Mack Brown has in place for week 2. Rick Neuheisel’s hot seat cools for at least one week.

Washington 24 – Nebraska(Big-10) 42 Washington stays fairly competitive, but the Cornhuskers are able to contain Chris Polk this time around and wins the unofficial rubber match of the series. Keep an eye out for if Alfonzo Dennard plays for the Blackshirts, but if the Huskies are going to pull off the upset, they are going to need Keith Price to throw the ball well and for its pass defense to step up.

Oregon 63 – Missouri State(FCS) 7: Puddles is going to do a lot of pushups.

Washington State 31 –  San Diego State(Mountain West) 28: Guess who currently leads the FBS in scoring? Well if anyone knew it was the Cougars before reading this question, I commend you. I project the Cougars are able to go into a very underrated San Diego State environment and pull out with a victory. Keep in mind, Brady Hoke was able to do enough with the talent here to get the Michigan job.

Arizona State 27 – Illinois(Big-10) 23 : Sparky’s much touted defense during the offseason is going to need to step up against a very similar spread offense to what they saw last week. Brock Osweiler and the offense hopes to not have a letdown after last week’s big win against Mizzou.

Syracuse(Big East) 21 – USC 31: USC has had a habit of making games interesting late in the Lane Kiffin era, but should be able to control the line of scrimmage against the less talented Orangemen.

Utah 28 – BYU(I-A Indepedent) 17Jordan Wynn plays well enough to win this first edition of the Holy-War with Utah in the Pac-12 and BYU as an indepedent.

Stanford 41 – Arizona 31: Andrew Luck gets the best of Nick Foles again in the battle of two future first round quarterbacks.

Presbyterian(FCS) 10 – California 52: Will be a good chance to check out the second and third string units.
